If you are taking a look at the EVE Online gaming system, than there are a few things that you will want to know right away. The first thing to think about when you encounter an MMORPG is how you can advance your character and open up the amount of things that you can do with the resources you have. When it comes to learning new things and being able to accomplish more, you'll find that EVE Online has a unique system that you can take a look at it.

Essentially, one of the nice things about the EVE Online skills is that you do not have to be online in order to train your character up in terms of skill. If you keep one character you do not need to be online to watch him go up in level. If a training session is started before you leave the computer for school or work, it will continue until you return. While only one character can be trained on a skill at any given point, this still allows you a great deal of flexibility and options when it comes to figuring out what you want to become better at.

To gets started, take a look at the EVE Online skills that you can see when open up your character sheet. Essentially, the skill points that you need to bring up your skill are determined by what level of the skill you are trying to get to. Lower level skills are significantly more easy to accomplish than higher levels. There are a maximum of five levels, and you'll find that if your skillpoints are not covered by the basic Clone, points can be subtracted in the event that your ship is destroyed and your character is killed.

Learning skills is passive, and you'll find that by simply spending the time, you can become proficient. You'll see that when it comes to an EVE Online skill, it will be connected with one of the five attributes, whether that is Intelligence, Perception, Charisma, Willpower or Memory. The better the attribute that is associated with the skill you are trying to learn, the faster you will learn the skill.

As a starting character, you begin the game with a small number of core skills, which are determined by the choices you make in the character creation process. To acquire new skills, you will need to buy books that will instruct you. Some skills in the lower levels can take as little as ten minutes to acquire, while high ranking skills can take upwards of several months. Some skills will require that other skills be mastered before you attempt to learn them.

As you can see, there is a lot to be said for learning EVE Online skills, but this should give you a good place to start. There are many things to keep in mind, but it all boils down to the skills that interest you!
